Noelle is a radio astronomer using PARKS, MEERKAT and GBT. In her research, she routinely utilises many skills, including:

• Reading, writing and editing Python code:

  • Consolidating Python 2 and Python 3 codes
  • Extensive use of visualisation packages such as matplotlib and seaborn
  • IPython and Jupyter notebooks
  • Writing unit tests with pytest
• Data querying from PSRCHIVE – pulsar archive
  • Most of the processing is already done
• HPC usage
  • Lightweight jobs
  • Using the job queue rather than interactive jobs
• VNC remote desktops
